I have a 72 Mach 1 Mustang and a big problem to go with it. We have tore down the old engine and got it back in the car, but one day when I went to start it up, the car jumped up and almost into a big pile of lumber. I need to know if it’s the transmission or the shifter. My main question is will a C2 or C3 shifter work on a FMX tranny?

I have a FMX tranny from a 1969 mustang. I am going to have a friend help me install it this weekend, but I want to have all new gaskets and such. What is a list of parts I need to get to reinstall the tranny cleanly and professionally? Where is a good place to order them quickly?
