Transmission Rebuild Kits?
The transmission in my 67 mustang is slipping, the transmission is a FMX automatic, its not the original transmission and I think this tranny is from a 1970’s mustang, but were would I get a rebuild kit? And how much would they be? Or would it be cheaper to get it rebuilt or buy another one? And were could I find a good used one?

you can order a rebuild kit through any parts store for the transmission, but its not that easy of a job to re-build,id suggest you have some one do it,its not something that the home mechanic want to tackle,it also takes a few specialty tools also to do this with.any transmission shop will have one to fit that car, they can also re-build that one if you want it done, good luck with it.
I bet you its your torque converter thats dying.
I used to buy my kits from an ordinary auto parts store, just walk in and ask for one. Sadly, they’ve all shut down in my town now. The only thing we have are chain stores. I don’t know if the chain store will sell you one.
That FMX rebuild kit was the kind of thing that you could buy for $100 at my favorite auto parts store.
Usually, NAPA will do things the others won’t, if it comes to that.
Get a re-built it is less labor intensive. if you don’t know where to go,contact me I will help you, i know a few companies that offer a 3 year 75,000 to 100,000 mile warranty.
get rid of it if is a fmx.. there not very reliable a c4 will be cheaper to rebuild and last a lot longer
